Perhaps even more shocking than Mooney's arrest, however, is that it's only the latest sexual misconduct charge against a southwest Connecticut teacher.

On Feb. 11 former Wilton public schools teacher and Sacred Heart University instructor Timothy Leonard was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault involving a 14-year-old boy.

Police said the 37-year-old was found in a movie theater parking lot with the teen after they engaged in an intimate act, the Fairfield Sun reported.

Former Bethel first-grade teacher Brian Stroh also resigned on Feb. 19 after charged with sexually abusing three children, ages 6, 9 and 11, the News Times reported.

Kayla Mooney, 24, who is on paid leave from Danbury High School, turned herself in Tuesday following a seven-week investigation, the News Times reported.

The first-year science teacher was charged with felony second-degree sexual assault and the misdemeanor alcohol charge.

Parents forced daughter into sex with 80-year-old

A couple from Enna, a town in central Sicily, forced their 15-year-old daughter to have sex with an 80-year-old man in a bid to overcome their money problems.
The pair are now on trial in Sicily after setting up sexual encounters between the girl and their former employer in exchange for “a few hundred euros” at least twice a month, ArticoloTre reported. The court in the nearby town of Caltanissetta heard that the couple had "severe financial problems".

The girl fell pregnant and gave birth to a son, fathered by the 80-year-old, in 2008. The case later came to the attention of the social services, which conducted an investigation, including a DNA test proving the elderly man was the child’s father.

A report by the Italian unit of Ecpat, the international child protection agency, earlier this month found that up to 11,000 children are forced into prostitution in Italy.

The financial crisis is partly to blame, with an increasing number of women, faced with unemployment, turning to sex work, both on the street and online.

A woman and her daughter, from Rimini, reportedly became prostitutes in a bid to support their struggling family. Meanwhile, five people were arrested in Rome in late October in connection with a prostitution ring that involved two girls aged 14 and 15. The mother of one of the girl's was also arrested for pimping her daughter.

Passengers die after driver is distracted by them having sex in the back seat

A couple was killed in a fiery car crash on the Hubei-Jiangxi highway when their driver was distracted by them having sex on the back seat and drove the vehicle into the back of a lorry.

According to Xinhua, 31 year old Zhang Zhangsheng became so distracted by his employer having sex with a woman in the back of his van while on highway G45 between Hubei and Jiangxi late last year that he rear-ended a truck in front of him, causing the vehicle to catch on fire.

Both Zhang's boss, Liu Xifeng and the woman he was with, Chen Hairong, died in the ensuing fire, but Zhang survived. He was later charged with negligent manslaughter by Anfu prosecutors.

This month a couple were snapped having sex in the back seat of a Shanghai taxi, though fortunately the driver was able to pay attention to the road and did not crash.
